My whole life I have been told your vote is private and I do not have to tell anyone. So why do voter registration forms require a political party to be choosen?

This info is given to the political parties and used as if they know what we all will vote on. Used to make illegal gerrymandering maps. Used to flood certain areas with more or no advertisements.

My view is anyone that who can show proof of residence should be able to vote without “registering”. Elections should be held over a week. Mail-in is legal means of voting. If a state requires ID then that ID should be free and a system setup to get ID's to ALL the voters.

We can have machines count the votes, but all votes must be on paper that the voter can view before submitting. Same form for all states. No Internet even a private point-to-point VPN on any of the machines. Before, during, and after elections. All paper ballots are manually counted immediately after the election to very machine count.
